This workshop is for absolute beginners with no previous jewellery making experience, this intensive full day Jewellery workshop will provide you with the fundamental skills required to work in silver. 

Learn about safety in the studio, saw piercing, filing, drilling, annealing, soldering, hammer/stamp texturing and polishing/finishing techniques.

You will walk away from this course with multiple pieces that you have crafted with your own two hands and that suit your own unique style. 

COURSE OVERVIEW

  • Safety in the workshop 
  • Using a jewellers saw & file
  • Shaping metal using hammers, pliers and hands
  • Texturing metal using hammers, stamps & punches
  • Introduction to the Orca torch
  • Soldering and appropriate solder choice
  • Polishing and finishing techniques

WHAT TO BRING

  • Visual journal and pencil / any design ideas you may have  
  • Please wear closed in shoes and have long hair tied back 
  • Please bring an apron or wear old clothes 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Tea, coffee & lunch is provided 
  • Copper and sterling silver are included in the workshop fee 

Bookings are final and no refunds will be given if you are unable to attend the workshop. You may be able to reschedule your workshop however this is at the discretion of the Jewellery Collective team.
