Private Jewellery Tuition (4 hours)

We offer four hour blocks of private jewellery tuition at our Sunshine Coast jewellery studio. On the day, you will have the undivided attention of an experienced jeweller and teacher with more than a decade of experience as you design, develop and hand make your very own piece of jewellery. You do not need any previous jewellery making experience to do this class.
Learn about key jewellery design concepts and the techniques for working in metal including saw piercing, filing, drilling, annealing, soldering, hammer/stamp texturing and polishing/finishing techniques.
COURSE OVERVIEW
- Safety in the workshop
- Using a jewellers saw & file
- Shaping metal using hammers, pliers and hands
- Texturing metal using hammers, stamps & punches
- Introduction to the Orca torch
- Soldering and appropriate solder choice
- Polishing and finishing techniques
WHAT TO BRING
- Visual journal and pencil / any design ideas you may have
- A positive attitude
- Any broken silver or gold jewellery you may want to incorporate into your piece
- Please wear closed in shoes and have long hair tied back
- Please bring an apron or wear old clothes
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
- Copper & silver is included in the course fee, however gold must be pre-ordered/paid for prior to our workshop and within 24 hours of the quote due to rapid fluctuation in metal prices.
- Tea coffee and snacks are also included.
