Lost Wax Carving Workshop

Step back in time and experience one of the oldest and most creative jewellery-making techniques in our Sunshine Coast studio. Please call to discuss a reduced class fee if bringing a friend / partner or group. 

Lost wax carving is a traditional process that jewellers have used for centuries to create intricate, one-of-a-kind pieces. This workshop is perfect for those who want to explore jewellery design in a relaxed, hands-on way.

During the 2.5 hour class, you’ll be guided by an experienced jewellery teacher as you:

• Learn how jewellers’ wax is used in the casting process

• Experiment with carving tools, files, heat, and hand-shaping techniques

• Design and carve your own unique ring or pendant in wax

• Explore different textures, patterns, and finishes to bring your vision to life

Once you’ve completed your wax design, we’ll weigh it and provide you with a personalised cost estimate for casting in your choice of metal - brass, bronze, sterling silver or gold. Please note: casting costs are additional and vary depending on the metal selected.

Your finished wax will then be sent to our trusted production house, where it will be cast using the ancient lost wax method. Within approximately three weeks, your jewellery will be returned to you - professionally cast, cleaned, polished, and ready to wear.

• Your original wax model to be cast (casting optional and quoted separately)
